In search of a tree,
\nWe drove to “The 40”;
\nLinds’ in high fashion
\nAnd me not so sporty.<\/p>\n

Like slobber to walls,
\nLinds’ shot to the tree.
\nEighty-seven pictures later,
\nThe saw was set free.<\/p>\n

To honor its branches,
\nA prayer we did say.
\nThen “Amen” was uttered;
\nThe tree would soon lay.<\/p>\n

When my turn was had
\nThe tree last stood;
\nIn a matter of seconds
\nDid soft snow hit wood.<\/p>\n

Above my round head,
\nI hoisted our tree
\nAnd without any thought
\nI tossed it to Lindsey.<\/p>\n

“Here ya go Honey,
\nYou can lug it from here.
\nI’ll take some pictures
\nAnd look out for deer.”<\/p>\n

What a woman she is!
\nThat face full of might.
\nThe prickly tree heaved
\nRight out of sight!<\/p>\n

The snow came down softly;
\nAnd Yogi had fun.
\nIt beat the heck out of
\nSome plain old run!<\/p>\n

It’s not every couple
\nThat gets perfect weather
\nWhen they go hunting
\nFor their first tree together.<\/p>\n

But what mattered the most,
\n(And I’m proud to tell),
\nIs all I kept thinking was
\nShe’s pretty darn swell!<\/p>\n
