(Remember, too, a preposition is a terrible word to end a sentence with.)<br \/>\nDon\u2019t overuse exclamation marks!!<br \/>\nPlace pronouns as close as possible, especially in long sentences, as of 10 or more words, to their antecedents.<br \/>\nWriting carefully, dangling participles must be avoided.<br \/>\nIf any word is improper at the end of a sentence, a linking verb is.<br \/>\nTake the bull by the hand and avoid mixing metaphors.<br \/>\nAvoid trendy locutions that sound flaky.<br \/>\nEveryone should be careful to use a singular pronoun with singular nouns in their writing.<br \/>\nAlways pick on the correct idiom.<br \/>\nThe adverb always follows the verb.<br \/>\nLast but not least, avoid cliches like the plague; seek viable alternatives.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Remember to never split an infinitive.
