Because anonymous just isn\u2019t for me &#8211; I want you to know me and accept me and to support me. If not, find something else to read. (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.peterwknox.com\/post\/20092973\/transparency\">link<\/a>)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Great post. I\u2019ve never written anonymously. Or posted videos or pictures that way. It doens\u2019t seem worth it to hide my content. Why not share it with the public? <\/p>\n<p>Knox seems to be going a step further in saying that he won\u2019t censor himself. That is a harder and more dangerous goal. People have expectations. An employer will care about it\u2019s employees\u2019 images. A prospective significant other will care how, and if, they are viewed.<\/p>\n<p>He just doesn\u2019t care what they think.<\/p>\n<p>Transparency is a bold goal. It\u2019s ironic &#8211; but true &#8211; that being a truer version of one\u2019s self (online) can be a life-limiting move. <\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s difficult for me to take a side on this concept of total transparency versus censored disclosure. I practice the later because I hope to have a career and don\u2019t want to be disowned by my girlfriend and family. I\u2019ve made the mistake of sharing the wrong content. It\u2019s annoying and whatever value total transparency held wasn\u2019t worth it.<\/p>\n<p>Good luck with it, though, to anyone who attempts a transparent \u201cblog.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>(I\u2019m not sure there is a transparency gradient. At first I thought of using \u201copacity,\u201d but what I intend to post isn\u2019t deliberately not transparent. It\u2019s not cloudy.
