Harvey, you enjoyed a cinnamon sugar donut, watching the goats, and running through the pumpkin patch. We enjoyed watching you have fun!

  • Paella Night

Grandma and Grandpa R gave me a paella pan for my birthday, so we tried it out tonight. The end result was tasty, but a little too smokey. We’ll have to tone down the spices and maybe raise the pan out of the fire next time.

  • Last Day of Summer 2014

    IMG_7860.JPG

You, mom, and I went for a hike this evening at Lighthouse Point Park to celebrate the beautiful weather and, unknowingly at the time, the last day of summer 2014. You had fun hiking along with us for a little bit of the trail, and enjoyed inspecting (and reinspecting) each rock and boulder that you came across. Both mom and I remarked that we are impressed with your curiosity. It’s a good reminder to look up from our iPhones from time to time, and absorb some of our natural surroundings.

Goodbye, fickle summer. Hello, fall, my favorite season.

  • Sand Hills Golf Club

I played Sand Hills Golf Club with Grandpa Dan, Steve, and Adam. The course is recognized as the #1 modern course in the United States, and it lived up to its ranking – mostly because of the golf course and partly because of the unique solitude of the location.

  • Wedding: Zack and Amelia

Congratulations to Zack and Amelia, who were wed today on the lawn of the Bowers Harbor Inn. The ceremony was a bit cool and windy, but beautiful nonetheless. The vows were touching, and the surprise singers at the end were special. I was happy to be a groomsman, and to have the chance to spend some time with Zack – a longtime friend, sometimes (former) tennis rival, world traveler, and good guy. Lindsey and I look forward to visiting Z+A in Vancouver one of these days.
