Time for Dress Up!

Last weekend, Grandma and Grandpa Lanham (Peg’s Parents) had us over for one of their famous Sunday Dinners, which is basically like Thanksgiving, but for no reason at all other than to spend some time together and consume massive amounts of food :) After the feast, we had grandma show us her dress collection! We found this fancy little number which both her and my mom instantly recognized…”This is the dress I wore to Peg’s wedding!” I have heard of Bride’s wearing their mother’s gown, but never mother of the brides, wearing their mother’s dress….perhaps we could start a new trend! Pretty class for the late 70’s!

Let us eat cake! Again!!!

For those of you who don’t know, I love Cake, cookies, brownies, ice cream, pies, and pretty much anything sweet. So, when St. Patrick’s day rolled around, I decided we needed to celebrate with a cake! So we called Aunt B’s (our wedding cake creator) and asked her to come up with an idea for a St. Patrick’s day Themed Cake, and oh yeah, make it the same flavor as our wedding cake!!! (we love it!!!) So here is what she came up with….PRETTY AMAZING HUH? :)

Happy March!

Well it is finally March, spring is just around the corner and it is also the 115 day mark! Whoo Hoo!!! The planning is going quite well and I wanted to take a quick minute to thank everyone who has sent us their well wishes! We love hearing from everyone and cannot wait to have everyone together come June 25th! It is beautiful out today, so it is time for a hike! Have a great day, and hopefully, even though March is in like a lamb, it will go out like one too. THINK POSITIVE right?!?!

Here’s a fun picture from our hike today…quite a beautiful blustery day down by the bay!!! Yogi is so cute in mid shake! Sorry its flipped the wrong way….i’m still learning wordpress!

Word Press Cooperates!

Finally, after months of learning how to use wordpress, I finally figured out how to add pictures and update the wedding party and wedding info pages!!! It’s the little things in life…wow, so happy right now!

I finally have pictures up for all of the bridesmaids and groomsman, our band is added to the wedding info page, and the menu is on the wedding info page….check out the options to pick which one you would like, but they are all DELICIOUS!

Cake, cake, and more cake

Good news – we survived our sugar high! On Saturday I ate the most cake I have ever had in my entire life, ok maybe not the most, but certainly the most flavors! They were all delicious, but we did have two or three favorites that made the cut and will be options.
The best part of the day by far was dinner with everyone, Peg, Dan, Terry, Robbi, Christy, Katy, and Chris and I. Everyone exclaimed, “Wow, this is a lot of cake!!!” We didn’t eat it all, but everyone left full! The best news – everyone agreed on the top three choices! How lucky are we!!! On Sunday, Chris and I went showshoeing and all Chris kept saying was, I want more cake!!!
Now its time to work off that cake binge…. :)

Two Words: Flower. Overload.

I need to interject a man post between the sudden bloom … ahem … explosion of flower posts that seem to have appeared on our wedding blog. The only problem is that I don’t have much man stuff to report about. Lindsey has been on top of planning this weekend’s dual-family cake testing event, which should prove to be one of the highlights of the wedding planning process. We’re trying a couple of local wedding cake bakers to see how they compare. I know very little about the details, but assume they’re both capable of incorporating pyrotechnics and animatronic golfers into the cake design. And if not, then we’ll have to look elsewhere. Only kidding, of course, but it is fun to dream about what to do – especially, when there’s a slight golf theme to the wedding as there is to ours.

In other news, which I’m surprised isn’t up here yet, Lindsey’s bridal fashion photograph appeared in this past week’s Northern Express. It even mentions my name! But she’s the beautiful bride-to-be.

I can’t imagine a better run-up to a wedding. Time-wise, we’re at the halfway point of the planning. However, we’re more than halfway done with the planning… or so we think. I’m sure it will get frantic when the “Big Day” looms.

It might be awhile before you hear from me again, as Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and most of my excess mental capacity will be spent trying to top my gift from last year. (Lindsey, that’s a softball lob to you to write a Valentine’s Day post!)
